Biography
Born in Görlitz, Katrin Köppert lives in Berlin since 2000. She studies Recent German Literature and Gender Studies at the Humboldt University of Berlin. Her major fields of study are Feminist and Queer Theory, Heteronormativity Analysis, Postcolonial Studies und Intercultural Literature. She acquired professional knowledge during an internship at the publishing company Quer among other things. During her stay abroad in India she visited two environmental grassroots organisations at the Himalayas to learn more about the women and their engagement in the preservation of the local environment and that of the rural structures. In the summer of 2007 she organised the conference „queer leben“ [www.queerleben.de/] in Berlin and at the moment she prepares the subsequent publication.
