Biography
Karin Froehlich, single mother of two children, studied painting at the Academy of Arts in Berlin (under Prof. Kuno Gonschior). Afterwards, artistic and educational stays in Japan (Osaka and Tokyo, 1983-1984), in Turkey, and in Paris (1989). To earn a living, the painter worked as a draftswoman for electro-technical machinery and for an architecture firm in Berlin; as a project manager and administrative assistant for transnational projects through the LEONARDO DA VINCI project coordinated by the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training; as an administrative assistant for a study on aged persons in Berlin, as well as for an international research project at the Max-Planck-Institute on educational research. She speaks four languages and possesses software and multimedia skills.
